The News About Our Food Conversation

By Monsanto

Who is Monsanto? Where does our food come from? What does sustainable farming mean? What is a GMO? Are GMOs safe? What is traditional plant breeding?

These important questions, and others, are becoming more and more common at dinner tables, classrooms, farmers markets, on social media and everywhere in between. At Monsanto, we realize it’s important to be transparent about who we are, what we do, and why we do it. That’s why we are joining a bigger conversation about food — one where people from all walks of life are coming together to share new ideas and ask questions about food and what we are doing both now and in the future to contribute to sustainable agriculture.

A bigger conversation about food has never been more important, because it’s going to take a wide range of ideas and resources to sustainably grow enough for our growing world. Monsanto is one of many companies in agriculture working to help farmers have better harvests while using resources more efficiently. And we know people have questions about the role Monsanto plays in food production today. That’s why we recently launched an outreach effort to share our story more broadly and connect with more people. A key part of this effort is our new Discover Monsanto website, which has an interactive Conversation feature where anyone can ask us questions about how food is grown and our role in the process.
